INTEGRITY AWARD
John Francis – Safety Manager, MW Builders
What started as a way to give back to the community through the Belton ISD CTE program to better prepare students for the workplace has evolved into a true partnership between MW Builders and Belton High School. Over the years, John Francis has volunteered his time to help the school’s construction TeamWorks team prepare for competitions, serving as a mentor and arranging qualified tradesman to provide hands-on training — ultimately giving students the tools and confidence that will equip them for a lifetime of success.
TEAMWORK AWARD
Melanie Plotner – Service Coordinator, Countywide Mechanical Systems
Based in our Countywide Mechanical Systems office in San Diego, Melanie Plotner helped our MMC Contractors teams across the country transition to a new service software. She traveled to other offices to ensure implementation went smoothly and to train the teams on its intricacies. Thanks to her willingness to give up the San Diego sunshine for a Midwest winter — all while planning a wedding of her own — the team was able to overcome the challenges a new program brings to keep the technicians and business rolling.
QUALITY CRAFTSMANSHIP AWARD
Jason Tilton – Superintendent, MMC Contractors - NJ
Quality craftsmanship is about more than producing a quality product. It is also about coming up with solutions and thinking outside the box, and Jason Tilton did just that — literally. Faced with the challenge of installing Pex tubing in the middle of an East Coast winter, Jason built a wooden box to hold the spool of tubing as well as a halogen light to warm the tubing, increasing its pliability and allowing the team to keep the project on schedule during harsh weather conditions.
ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT AWARD
Natalya Steinke – Senior Estimator, MW Builders
Originally from Russia, Natalya Steinke is living her American Dream, and she credits her opportunity to be an employee owner for that. As an MW Builders teammate since 2003, Natalya has seen the benefit — and the difference — of working for an employee-owned company, and she wants everyone to know it. From her dedication and continuous effort to win work and positive, team-first attitude to her interactions with clients to ensure the best construction experience possible, Natalya’s entrepreneurial spirit burns bright.
